All Saints’ and Souls’ Day

It is a family custom to be together on All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. It is the only time where we can pay tribute to our late loved ones.

Lighting Candles, offering flowers, food and wine is a common sight in cemeteries. What I like most during these events is bonding between families and friends, similar to Christmas it is the time of year where we sit, relax and remember the ones that once became part of our lives. And thanks to this, their memories will live on with us and with the next generations.

To Lolo Titing, Lola Menens, Lolo Rig and all the other souls that have been part of our lives, may you have a wonderful time and a peaceful rest. You will always be remembered.

A day at SM

Because there’s no work and there’s nothing to do, my baby and I together with our niece Jazlyn, spent the afternoon at SM. But before going there we went to Basilica del Sto. Niño first to give thanks to the holy child.

When we arrived at SM, the first thing we did was bought an umbrella for my baby then afterward we stopped at Tokyo Joe’s to eat my favorite California Rolls.

Our trip to Simala and Taoist Temple

Today my whole family and Baby’s family  went to visit the ‘Birhen sa Simala’  in Sibonga, although it was my second time there, it never ceases to amaze me. As usual there are a lot of devotees (might be because on September 8, it’s her birthday). We stayed in line for at least an hour to see the miraculous Birhen.

After that, to make use of the vehicle we decided to visit the Taoist Temple way back in Lahug ( I know the trip was quite exhausting). It was my first time visiting there. Although it was “strict”, the place was great.

It was a tiring day but it was worth it. Getting together with one’s family is something to look forward to. I hope we could do this again next year. Anyway here are our pics from our visits in Taoist Temple and Simala
